Become a skilled yacht skipper on coastal passages by day and night and enjoy an active holiday

An advanced skippering course for those with considerable knowledge of and experience in sailing and navigation. To get the most out of this course, your background knowledge should be at the level of the Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Shorebased course and practically you should be an experienced Dayskipper. During the course you will skipper passages in a whole variety of situations and enjoy an intense and satisfying week.

Suggested minimum pre-course experience: 15 days at sea, 2 days as skipper, 300 miles, 8 night hours. .
Recommended pre-course knowledge: Knowledge of advanced offshore & coastal seamanship, navigation, pilotage and meteorology.

Course contents: Coastal- and offshore skippering techniques. Undertaking demanding passages by day and by night. Yacht handling in a diversity of conditions.

Duration: 5 consecutive days.

After the course: You are able to skipper a yacht on coastal passages by day and by night. Reduced required sea time to enter an RYA/MCA Coastal Skipper Exam for holders of an RYA Coastal Skipper Practical Certificate.

Certificate: After successful completion we award you with an RYA Coastal Skipper Practical Certificate.
