All About Sailing is a family owned Charter Company offering the opportunity to sail in modern luxury yachts.

We are based in Marina de Portimao & operate around the Portuguese and Spanish Algarve coastlines.

Coming from a corporate background ourselves we appreciate how precious your time is, so we will do everything possible to make your holiday or event a success.

Your safety is paramount and we are certified to Royal Yachting Association and Maritime and Coastguard Agency standards. We are members of the Royal Yachting Association.

From our Algarve base, situated at Marina De Portimao, (an hour from Faro Airport), we sail around all the best parts of Portugal's stunningly beautiful Algarve coastline including Praia de Luz, Alvor, Lagos, Vilamoura, Albufeira, and Faro Lagoons, the Lagoons of Faro, Tavira and Vila Real plus the Spanish Costa De Luz.

The Algarve has the perfect climate for sailing (virtually no rainfall from April to October) and boasts many picturesque harbours and anchorages.

The Algarve is a region of striking contrasts - rural calm set against busy towns rich in history and architecture, gleaming white plastered buildings with an imposing backdrop of mountains, lush greenery - and of course those breathtaking views over the sea!

The Algarve Climate

Our fantastic location allows for year round sailing, fabulous sunsets & even the odd dolphin!!! From April to November, average temperatures rarely fall below 15°C whilst during July and August 25°C is normal although temperatures up to 40°C have been recorded.

During the hottest months coastal regions benefit from a cooling sea breeze and good sailing is assured with consistent gradient winds generated by the Azores high-pressure system.

Brush up on specific skills or complete one of the accredited RYA Cruising Scheme courses offered through our partners - Yachting Experience – an RYA Recognised Training Centre.

We can teach up to 5 people, or concentrate on you, whilst the rest of your party sits back and enjoys the fabulous Algarve coast.

Learning to sail in the sunny (& tidal) Algarve is infinitely preferable to learning to sail off the British Coast and having to contend with UK weather.

Reward your staff and entertain your clients on our luxury sailing yacht. We can offer a range of tailor made packages from one day to a week to suit your needs. For comfortable corporate events “Windntide” can accommodate up to six guests, however, additional yachts can be made available for larger parties.

Our saloon is the perfect environment to host that special meeting afloat. We can provide full AV facilities with PowerPoint, Internet and email access, a PC and printer, plus guaranteed privacy.

Quality hotels, restaurants and bars abound, or alternatively we can offer high quality food and drink on board

Each year the Algarve and particularly Portimao host some of the world’s most prestigious marine events including the Volvo Ocean Race, the Breitling Cup & Trofeu de Portugal, P1’s Powerboat World Championships and many many more. 2008 will see the return of the P1 Championships plus the launch of the eagerly awaited Portimao Global Ocean Race.

Whether you are building mileage or just curious, you are more than welcome to join us on one of our longer passages.

Beyond the Portuguese and Spanish Coasts we have Gibraltar, Morocco, The Azores and The Canary Islands, all within a week’s sailing.

Stay ashore if you prefer not to sleep on the yacht. All our accommodation is personally inspected and selected for it’s quality and location. A shore based sailing holiday gives that extra flexibility that families and friends sometimes need.
Stay ashore and sail some or everyday or sail for the first week and just relax for the second. A holiday to suit everybody?

Our lead yacht, "Windntide", is a 2007 Bavaria 37 Cruiser, a modern yacht with superb facilities and is ideally suited to Yacht Charter and Sailing Tuition. Certified to RYA and MCA safety codes she is suitable for off shore cruising and ocean passages.
